DELHI HIGHER JUDICIAL SERVICE EXAMINATION – 2015
THE HIGH COURT OF DELHI invites online applications from eligible candidates for filling up 09 vacancies by way of direct recruitment in Delhi Higher Judicial Service by holding Delhi Higher Judicial Service Examination in two successive stages:-
- (i) Delhi Higher Judicial Service Preliminary Examination (objective type with 25% negative marking) for selection to the main examination; and
- (ii) Delhi Higher Judicial Service Main Examination (Descriptive) for selection of candidates for calling for Viva voce.
The Delhi Higher Judicial Service Preliminary Examination (Objective Type) referred to above, will be held on Sunday, the 3rd April, 2016.
The Syllabus for the Preliminary (Objective) Examination shall be as follows:-
General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English Language and topics on Constitution of India, Evidence Act, Limitation Act, Code of Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code, Contract Act, Partnership Act, Principles governing Arbitration Law, Specific Relief Act, Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Succession Act, Transfer of Property Act and Negotiable Instruments Act.
The Syllabus for the Main (Descriptive) Examination shall be as follows:-
General Knowledge, Current Affairs, English Language and topics on Constitution of India, Indian Evidence Act, Limitation Act, Code of Civil Procedure, Criminal Procedure Code, Indian Penal Code, Contract Act, Partnership Act, Principles governing Arbitration Law, Specific Relief Act, Hindu Marriage Act, Hindu Succession Act, Transfer of Property Act and Negotiable Instruments Act.
The time scale of the pay of members of Delhi Higher Judicial Service is `51550- 1230-58930-1380-63070 plus allowances as are admissible to officers working under the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. A candidate shall be eligible to appear in the examination if he / she is (a) a citizen of India; (b) a person who has practised as an Advocate for not less than 7 years; and (c) a person who has attained the age of 35 years but has not attained the age of 45 years as on 1st January, 2015.
The candidates shall submit their applications online only in the prescribed format through the official website of High Court of Delhi i.e. delhihighcourt.nic.in from 18.01.2016 to 08.02.2016 (till 11.59 P.M.) after which the link will be disabled. The fees (non-refundable) in the sum of `1000/- for General Category candidates and `200/- for Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe / Physically Handicapped (Orthopaedically Handicapped {OA – one arm affected (Right or left), OL – one leg affected (right or left), BL – both legs affected but not arms} candidates should be paid in the form of a single demand draft/pay order and the print out of online filled up Application form (on A4 size paper) alongwith demand draft/pay order be sent by “Speed Post / Registered Post” ONLY addressed to the Joint Registrar (Vig.), High Court of Delhi, Sher Shah Road, New Delhi – 110 503, by designation, so as to reach him not later than 4:00 P.M. on 15.02.2016. Applications sent by any other mode shall not be accepted. Print out of online filled up Application form (on A4 size paper) alongwith demand draft/pay order can also be submitted personally at the Filing Counter of Delhi High Court on any working day from 10:30 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. and from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. till 15.02.2016.
The demand draft/pay order should be drawn in favour of ‘Registrar General, Delhi High Court, New Delhi’ payable at New Delhi.
Before filling up the form, the candidates are advised to read carefully the Notification / Advertisement and Instructions for Delhi Higher Judicial Service Examination – 2015.
The number of vacancies to be filled are as under:-
- General : 03
- SC : 02
- ST : 04
Note 1: Out of aforesaid 09 vacancies, 01 vacancy is reserved for Physically Handicapped (Ortho) candidate.
Note 2: The above vacancies are subject to the outcome of CA No. 1086/2013 pending in Supreme Court of India and WP(C) 2828/2010, WP(C) No. 9370/2015 and WP(C) No. 10113/2015 pending in Delhi High Court.
Applications incomplete in any form or those which are not applied through online mode or received after the last date or such applications which are not accompanied by the demand draft/pay order of requisite fees, are liable to be rejected summarily.
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their admission at all the stages of examination for which they are admitted by this Court viz. Preliminary (Objective) Examination, Main (Descriptive) Examination and the Viva voce shall be purely provisional, subject to their satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. If on verification at any time before or after the Preliminary (Objective) Examination, Main (Descriptive) Examination and the Viva voce, it is found that they do not fulfil any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination shall stand cancelled without
any notice or further reference.
