1. Applications are invited from candidates of Indian Nationality by 222 ABOD, PIN-909 222, c/o 99 APO for the following posts of Gp `C’ in Pay Band of Rs. (Pay Band + Grade Pay) plus other allowances as admissible to Central Government Employees.

Note :-
(a) LDC. Ratio of Marks for LDC is 80 : 20 (Written / Interview). No marks for the typing test, however it is essential to qualify the typing test so as to appear for interview.
(b) Fireman and Tradesman Mate. Ratio of Marks 40 : 40 :20 (Physical / Written/ Interview) is for Fireman & Tradesman Mate.
- (i) Tradesman Mate Running. 1.5 km run in 6 minutes. Only those candidates selected on the basis of this test will be eligible for further recruitment process and various tests thereafter
(c) Physical Handicapped (Tradesman Mate). Ratio of Marks 80 : 20 (Written / Interview) is for Tradesman Mate of PH (OH). No physical tests are required for OH candidates.
5. Selection Procedure for Applicant Applying for the Post of Fireman :-
(a) Physical Standards Required for the Post of Fireman. Candidates applying for the post of Fireman
are required to be physically fit to perform strenuous duties of fireman and should pass the following physical standards :-
- (i) Height without shoes - 165 Cms (concession of 2.5 Cm for ST)
- (ii) Chest (Un-expanded) – 81.5 cms (chest on expansion – 85 cms)
- (iii) Weight – 50 Kgs (minimum)
(b) Physical Fitness Tests for the Post of Fireman. The candidates applying for the post of Fireman are also required to pass following physical tests, written test, endurance tests and interview at the time of recruitment :-
(i) Running 1.6 km run in 6 minutes. Only those candidates selected on the basis of this test
will be eligible for further recruitment process and various tests thereafter. The test will carry 20 marks.
(ii) Endurance Tests
- (aa) Fireman Lift Carrying a man of 63.5 kg to a distance of 183 mtrs within 96 seconds. This test will carry 10 marks.
- (ab) Long Jump Clearing 2.7 mtrs wide ditch landing on both feet. This test will carry 05 marks.
- (ac) Vertical Rope Climbing 3.0 mtrs vertical rope using hands and feet. This test will carry 05 marks.
(iii) Written Test A written test of 10th Class standard will be conducted prior to interview for short listing of candidates. Written test will be conducted with a maximum of 40 marks.
6. Common Points for Fireman / Tradesman Mate / Safaiwala.
(a) Degree of Disability for Reservation As per existing Government policy, Person would be eligible for reservation in service/posts who suffers not less than 40% of relevant disability. Res for Physical – Hearing impairment means loss of 60 (sixty) decibels or more in the better ear in the conversational range of frequencies. The disability certificate shall be from a competent Medical Board constituted by the Central or State Government Hospital consisting of at least three members. Out of which one shall be specialist in the particular field i.e. Hearing disability. A person with 100% DEAF AND DUMB is NOT to be appointed as Fireman. The disability certificate for PH (HH) candidate should as per Annexure II (Photocopy to be added).
7. Vacancies may vary (Increase/ Decrease) subject to availability of post or change in PE and non extension of validity of NAC or as per Government orders / Higher Headquarters as per policy on subject.
8. Candidates will fwd application properly sealed, in an envelope to the address mentioned against the post applied for through Ordinary / Registered / Speed Post. Application in person will not be accepted. Candidates are requested to superscribe the words “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF ……….” on the top of envelope while sending the application form. Separate application is required if individual is applying for more than one post. (Format of application as per Annexure –I)
9. DON’T SEND ORIGINAL CERTIFICATES with application. Photocopy of the following Documents/ Certificate to be attached along with application duly self attested:-
(a) Two Passport size photographs duly self attested, one on right corner of application and one on Call letter.
(b) Attested copies of the following certificates will also be submitted with application.
- (i) Education qualification certificate.
- (ii) Date of Birth Certificate.
- (iii) Caste certificate for SC/ST and OBC candidates. (OBC Caste certificate only be accepted as mentioned in the Central Government List). OBC declaration certificate as per Annexure-III
- (iv) Photocopy of Domicile cert / Residential status certificate from Gram Pradhan/SDO/Circle Officer) of the respective area.
- (vi) Medical certificate for Physical Standard as per para 6 (a) above for Fireman category only.
- (vii) Medical certificate for Physical Handicapped (HH/OH) as per Annexure-II.
- (viii) Character Certificate from the Class I Gazetted Officer (Date of issue be within six months from the FIRST date of publication of the advertisement in the Employment News).
(c) Self addressed (correspondence address) envelop affixed with Rs. 25/- Postal stamps.
Note :- The Central Government civilian employees must furnish “NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE’ from their appointing authority at the time of the skill test else their candidature will be cancelled.
10. Incomplete / ineligible application will be deemed invalid and rejected without intimation to the candidate. Only the eligible candidates will be called for the Physical test/Written examination. Candidates not in receipt of call letter should presume that their application were incomplete/not meeting qualitative requirements or not found eligible and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained. The following acts/omissions would render a candidate/application disqualified :-
- (a) Furnishing of false, inaccurate or tempered information.
- (b) Obtaining support for his candidature through unfair means.
- (c) Impersonation by any other person.
- (d) Submitting fabricated documents.
- (e) Making statements which are incorrect or false suppressing material information.
- (f) Resorting to any other irregular or improper means in connection with his candidature for the selection.
- (g) Improper filling of applications.
- (h) More than one application submitted by the candidate in one trade.
- (j) Any other reason as observed by the Board of Officers.
- (k) Not enclosing self addressed (correspondence address) envelop affixed with Rs. 25/- Postal stamps.
11. To reduce the number of candidates for written examination for one category of post screening of application will be carried out based on the percentage of marks obtained in the examination mentioned as essential qualification. The candidates who fail to qualify in the physical test (where applicable shall not be permitted to undergo written test. Skill test wherever applicable will be conducted after written test and will be qualifying in nature which will also be counted for final merit. Short listing of candidates for interview shall be carried out based on the performance in written exam and physical test skill test (wherever applicable).
12. It is made clear that merely fulfilling the basic essential qualification requirements does not automatically entitle a person to be called for test/interviews. The selection will be made strictly on the merit basis. The decision of appointing authority regarding selection / rejection will be final. It is also made clear that the numbers of posts/vacancies are tentative and recruitment process can be cancelled / suspended / terminated by the Commandant at any stage, due to administrative reasons.

14. Selected candidates will be given appointment letter by concerned authorities subject to verification of character and antecedents from concerned District Magistrates and medical fitness from medical authorities.
15. Probation Period Post is permanent, subject to individual completing two years probation successfully.
16. Any dispute with regard to the recruitment will be subject to the Courts having jurisdiction in Guwahati only.
17. Canvassing in any form shall disqualify the candidates. No enquiry or correspondence will be entertained.
18. No TA/DA is admissible Duration of each test can be 02 to 05 days or more. Candidates will make their own arrangements for lodging/boarding during the test/interview.
19. Own risk clause “Candidate will appear for physical test/endurance test at their own risk. Any injury/accident if sustained by the candidate during tests, authorities will not be responsible to pay any compensation”.
