Details of Ayurvedic Hospitals and Research Institutes presently functioning in the country
AYURVEDIC HOSPITALS AND RESEARCH INSTITUTES
(a) The details of Ayurvedic Hospitals functioning in the country are provided in Annexure-I and the details of Research Institutes functioning under Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) are provided in Annexure - II.
(b) The funds allocated and released to the States for setting up of 50 bedded integrated AYUSH Hospitals and Budget Estimate (BE) and Actual Expenditure(AE) in respect of CCRAS are at Annexure-III.
(c) As health is a State subject, the setting up of more AYUSH Hospitals in the States/UTs is under the purview of concerned State/UT Governments. Ministry of AYUSH has implemented a Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM) since September, 2014 in which there is a provision to support setting up of 50 bedded integrated AYUSH Hospitals in the States/UTs. In this regard, the State/UT Governments are required to submit their proposals in the State Annual Action Plan (SAAP) as per the guidelines of the scheme to avail the financial support.
(d) Following actions have been taken by the Ministry of AYUSH to boost research and development activities:
i. The Extra Mural Research (EMR) Scheme has been revised in the 12th Plan to support R&D projects of scientific and medical institutes and also Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) compliant Ayurveda Industries.
ii. The Central Sector Scheme for development of AYUSH industry clusters has been implemented for providing grant to the Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) formed by group of entrepreneurs from AYUSH Sector for creating AYUSH industry related infrastructural facilities inter-alia including drug testing facilities such as Analytical Laboratory, Toxicology Centre, Process & Product Validation Laboratory, Raw Material Testing, Standardization laboratory etc.
iii. A system is in place in Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences to examine and take up claims from any source for scientific validation of Ayurvedic remedies.

(a) the details of Ayurvedic Hospitals and Research Institutes presently functioning in the country;
(b) the funds allocated/released and achievements/progress made by them during each of the last three years and the current year, State/UT-wise;
(c) whether the Government proposes to open more such hospitals and institutes in the country, if so, the details and the locations thereof;
(d) the further plan of the Government to give boost to research and development in Ayurvedic products, particularly in Public Private Partnership (PPP) mode; and
(e) the share of Indian Ayurvedic products in the world market?
