Indian Railways has always been the favorite among govt job aspirants. Throughout the year, railway jobs have grabbed the attention of job seekers, be it for recruitment purpose or for declaration of any big result!

The plan to merge railway budget is surely going to affect the recruitment process.
Impact of General Budget on Indian Railways Recruitment
Though much cannot ascertained at this moment, but the largest employer in the nation will surely look forward to strengthen all its important platforms (revenue, structure, expenditure, etc.). Before-merger decision, the railway department had a deficit in revenue, faced a paucity of funds for maintenance and expansion.
After merging, there are chances of transformation as railway revenue will become a part of the general revenue like any other government department. The merger is based on the recommendations of the Committee headed by Bibek Debroy, who is a member of NITI Aayog. Bibek Debroy along with Kishore Desai presented a separate paper on ‘Dispensing with the Railway Budget’.
A strong assumption can be made that Union budget will allocate near about Rs 6.7 trillion business opportunities for Indian Railways in the coming five years.
What’s in store?
If we analyse the trends of previous year, few points can be guessed:
RRB NTPC recruitment process may get over and qualified candidates may join in their respective post.
Engineer graduate railway jobs may be advertised as all other recruiting bodies have recently announced massive recruitment for BE/ BTech pass outs.
Higher number of vacancies may be announced by Northern and Southern railways as recruitment in these zones were lesser this year
Like 2017, recruitment of apprentice will also be held by different railway zones
In a nutshell, 2017 will open up lucrative employment opportunity for ITI pass, diploma holders, graduate, 10+2 and 10th pass candidates
