189. SHRI PRALHAD JOSHI:

Will the Minister of MICRO, SMALL AND MEDIUM ENTERPRISES be pleased to state:

(a) the details of number of persons registered as job seeker, and as employers with the job portal, ‘Employment Exchange for Industries’, launched by the Government;

(b) whether the different jobs available have been listed on the website;

(c) if so, the details thereof and the number of persons actually applied for a job through the portal, if not, the reasons therefor;

(d) whether the portal lists jobs in the manufacturing as well as the services sector, if not, the reasons therefor; and

(e) whether the Government plans to tie up with other private job portals and if so, the details thereof?

(a) : 3,45,024 job seekers and 2933 employers have registered on the portal namely “Employment Exchange for Industries” as on 18th April 2016

(b)& (c): Presently, the main objective of the portal is to facilitate matchmaking between job seekers and employers for their mutual benefits. Very few employers have notified their vacancies on the portal at present.

(d): Mainly the employers belonging to manufacturing sector are using the information available on the portal. However, the employers from service sector can also use the portal.

(e): With the launch of National Career Service (NCS) by Ministry of Labour & Employment, there is a need for convergence of job portal for MSME (Employment Exchange for Industries) with the National Career Service.
